Dixie is new to the rescue and is getting all of her vetting and we are just getting to know her.  So far she is FULL of love and kisses for everyone she meets.

UPDATE:  Dixie has settled into her Minnesota foster home.  She's a sweet little girl, this one! She is a perfect blend of love and independence. Her playful side has started to come out; she loves rolling in the grass, belly up to the sun! A smart cookie, she has shown she is a quick learner of personalities and house rules. She has made a friend with foster furbrother Hank and seems to like having him when she chooses to play. Dixie will do well with as much love as can be poured over her.  She loves to be next to you and having her head and ears scratched.  She is very affectionate!

Dixie acts really great around other dogs, people, strangers, etc.  We've had her for a week now, and just recently started introducing her to friends and other dogs.  All interactions have been really positive.  We also own another boxer and they play/"box" really well together!

She is really a beautiful dog with the coloring and patterns.  We do go outside frequently and our other dog loves to play and get her going.  When we are inside, she is content either laying at your feet or on the couch (if you invite her up).

She is food motivated, which will make training easier.  She does sit on command, especially with a treat.  Otherwise, we haven't done much training as she settles in. She is gentle too and will take a treat very nicely.

We crate Dixie when we are gone during the day.  She will whine a little bit then settle down once we leave.  She has full reign of the house at night and will either sleep on the bed in the spare bedroom or on the couch/ground.  She will come into bed with you, but just waits to be invited.  She has not had any accidents!  We've been on one really long walk with her recently and she did great!  She was very gently on the leash.
