Tigger is currently at the vet clinic being treated for what is one of the worst cases of neglect that we have ever seen.  This did not happen overnight...the vet believes this was 8-12 months of neglect.  Tigger is being treated for demodex mange and for the secondary infections occur when it is left untreated.  We are waiting on skin culture results to see just how serious the infection is.  He will start on hydrotherapy on 4/3 and will be recovering at the clinic for a while before he can move to his foster home.  Please keep him in your thoughts and prayers and please check back for updates on Tigger.

UPDATE:  Tigger is looking and feeling much better these days!!  He has been receiving treatment for three different strains of infection and has responded very well...so well in fact that he has become a bouncy, happy, wiggly boy!  He is eating very well and putting on some weight and is getting some hair growing back.

THE LATEST:  Tigger is in his Indiana foster home and doing great!!  He is ALL puppy and is doing his best to get all of the resident dogs to play with him.  We have found out that he is NOT good with cats.  Tigger is now neutered and is all ready to find his very own family.  He loves other dogs and is fantastic with kids, too!

FROM TIGGER'S FOSTER MOM: Tigger is one of the sweetest dogs you could imagine! He is a friendly boy that absolutely LOVES every dog, child and person he meets. He's a young pup, so he does have a decent amount of energy, but it's by no means overwhelming when he gets the proper amount of exercise one would expect of the breed. After a good walk or playtime with his furry foster siblings, he instantly settles down to rest. He's not fond of crates, but fortunately, he's not destructive or a chewer, so containing him to a bedroom when you leave is the perfect answer for him. He does try and nibble when playing with dogs or humans, so he'll need reminders not to do that with humans. He LOVES chew toys, bones, and playing fetch! He will fetch any toy and drop it at your feet for more. He's also great with sharing and has zero issues with resource guarding the things he loves. He's a great snuggler and loves to be near his people at all times. Ideally he would go to a home with at least one furry friend that he can bond and play with, but please, no cats! With a regulated schedule, he's doing wonderful with house training and can now go the whole night (8+ hours) without an accident! He will go to the back door when he needs to potty, so simply watch for that.  He will need someone that will continue teaching him to not try and counter surf or jump when excited, as can be expected with most young pups.
