Izzy just arrived at her North Carolina foster home and will be starting heartworm treatment soon.  She is a gorgeous young girl and is as sweet as she is pretty!  She is great with other dogs.

Izzy's heartworm treatment was delayed due some inflammation in her chest.  She will be on some medication for a few weeks then will get rechecked.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!

UPDATE:  Izzy's coughing has stopped and she had another check-up and x-rays.  The vet doesn't feel like she is healthy enough for heartworm treatment yet.  She will continue on her medications.

2/24/19 UPDATE FROM IZZY'S FOSTER FAMILY:  Izzy is a very sweet loving little girl.  She loves people and loves lounging on the couch with her people and very giving with her kisses.  She gets along great with her kennel mates and loves children.  Izzy has a very gentle kind old soul.  She would do great being left out all day.  She is crate and house trained.  Izzy hasn't been cat tested.  She definitely does not like chickens. Izzy is heartworm positive, however it doesnt stop her from living her life to the fullest.

12/15/19:  Izzy had her recheck and x-rays and after being on medications for the slow-kill method, she tested heartworm negative!!!!  We could not be more thrilled!!!  The radiologist and the surgeon are going over all of her x-rays and bloodwork results and will let us know if they feel she is healthly enough to be spayed and have a small mammary tumor removed.  Please check back soon!!!

1/18/20:  Izzy was cleared for surgery and is now spayed and had the mammary tumor removed.  She did fantastic and has bounced right back from surgery and is ready to move to her adoptive home!
