Koa is a fun young boy who just arrived at his North Carolina foster home. Once he settles in we will update with more information about him. We do know that he is good with other dogs :)
UPDATE FROM KOA'S TEMPORARY FOSTER MOM: Looking for a great companion? Meet our newest foster Koa! He is just over a year old, crate trained, house trained, well mannered and a happy, happy boy! He loves other dogs and loves to be with his people. He is getting neutered today and is fully vetted as well as on heartworm preventative and flea/tick preventative. I can honestly say he has been one of the easiest fosters we have had in our home.
THE LATEST: Koa Ttested great with small dogs, cats and small children! His reaction was the same as his reaction to EVERYTHING.......tail wagging, curious, happy and absolutely NO sign of aggression. I think he would do very well in a house of kids as long as the kids are good with him. He of course gets excited and jumps up so could possibly knock a small child over so a family would need to work with him on this. (We are working on this bad habit) Keeping him on a leash the first couple of weeks should help with this.
Koa is very smart and eager to learn. He already knows his name and we have taught him to sit. He is quiet in his kennel and sleeps all night. He loves laying on the dog beds throughout the house and I'm pretty sure he would love to cuddle in bed at night if this were allowed. We have not let him up on furniture and he seems content laying at our feet. Again, I'm sure he would love to be a lap dog if his forever home allowed. He has the softest fur so he is awesome to love on! And he LOVES to be loved on :) He enjoys playing with toys and really enjoys playing tug of war with Molly. He loves to be outside and will lay in the yard for hours if we let him (too hot right now).
I feel Koa could adapt to any type of situation. He has been with us a little over 2 weeks and has fell into our routine very quickly. I think Koa would benefit with some formal obedience training and not because he is a naughty puppy but because he is very smart and eager to learn.
I honestly have nothing negative to say about Koa. He has been the perfect house guest and is such a loving, happy boy! If we could have another, he would definitely be a keeper!
Koa is ready for his new home anytime! AWESOME pretty much sums him up :)
