Dixe joined us today and she is getting settled in at her temporary foster home.  She needs some vetting and will be getting that done this week.  She is a laid back girl who seems to be housebroken. She doesn't seem to be crate trained so her temp foster mom has started working on that with her already.  She formerly lived with kids and other dogs and is doing great with small dogs and female dogs but large male dogs put her on guard.

UPDATE!  We were quite surprised to find out that Dixie was pregnant.  On October 9th, she gave birth to five puppies.  One was stillborn and we lost one a couple of days later.  The three remaining pups are all healthy, growing and adorable!!  Once the babies are weaned, Dixie will head to her very patient forever family and after the pups receive their initial vetting, they will be going to their furever homes, too!
