About Diablo (aka Dexter) | |

Hi there! My name is Diablo but my foster mom calls me Dexter (Dex for short). I like this name much better! I even answer. I am a new 2 year old boxer boy and my foster mom calls me a big boy. I love food and treats but I love my people most! My favorite thing is to sit in my foster Mom’s lap and have her pet me.
I do love toys and love to play with my foster mom. Once in a while I like to lay down and chew on my Nylabone. I am a typical Young Boxer, I like to run and play and jump around. My foster mom says I am like a pogo stick, whatever that is! When I get excited, which is pretty much over EVERYTHING, I get all jumpy and I can get a little overbearing when I want to show you how excited I am.
My mom says I like to bark outside a lot. She tells me all the time there is nothing to bark at but that stray leaf that blew past the fence looked suspicious! I also have started up the new hobby of digging along the house some. Why? You ask... Well why not!
I am pretty much house trained but I do have accidents every once in a while because I’m just not sure how to let my foster mom know that I need to go out and go potty. I don’t mind my kennel as long as you throw a treat for me inside. And I love to get all the fancy treats off of mom’s counter top in the kitchen.
I don’t mind other dogs. I would possibly love to chase around a friend! I’m really worried that my foster mom is going to leave me so I am very anxious and attached to her but I do like to meet new friends that spend time with me! If I meet new dogs I need to have a VERY SLOW introduction. I would be fine in a home by myself but I think I could learn to love to play with a new fur-brother or fur-sister. I am in training classes right now and am learning a ton! I can’t wait to show you and to find my “Fur-ever” home!!
Due to his energy level, Dex would do best in a home with older children as he may knock the little ones over. He will require lots of exercise as all young Boxers do. A home with a fenced in yard for him to run in would be perfect!!!
THE LATEST: Dex has completed his first level obedience class and did fantastic!!! He was voted "Most Improved" in class and we couldn't be more proud!!!
