Chewbacca aka Chewy has arrived at his Ohio temporary foster home.  He is young and FULL of Boxer energy!  He is a gorgeous boy with the most unique and beautiful markings.  Chewy does well with other dogs, cats, kids and other pets and farm animals.  He crates up well but is still very much in the puppy stage with chewing and not being very good on the leash yet but his foster mom will work on that.  Chewy will do best at a home with a fenced in yard where he can run and run and he needs a family who will commit to teaching him leash manners and to taking him to obedience classes to help him be the best boy he can be.

UPDATE:  Chewy is moving from his adoptive home to a temporary foster home.  He was returned for having too much energy.  Chewy will need a longer term foster or an adoptive home who understands the high energy level of a young dog and who has the time, love and patience to teach him some more manners.  He did absoultely wonderful on his long transport this past weekend and did very well on the leash at hand-offs.  

THE LATEST:  Chewy is doing incredibly well at his temporary foster home.  He is learning leash manners and only pulls when he gets distracted by something or someone new and exciting.  Chewy has no issues at all with being crated.  It is important to remember that his is still a pup and likes to chew so he will need to be reminded what is OK to chew and what is not.  He is a very friendly and social dog and loves everyone he meets.
