Dixie is a precious young girl who has spent her life having puppies.  She received her routine vetting and tested positive for heartworm disease.  She also tested positive for ehrlichia so she has been started on Doxycycline for that and for pre-heartworm treatment.  After 30 days of medication she will need to start heartworm treatment and is in need of a calm and quiet foster home to help her through it.  Dixie is not spayed at this time due to her heartworm status and being very underweight.  She also has some itchy skin that her temporary foster mom is helping her with by giving her medicated baths.  

UPDATE:  Dixie has arrived at her Minnesota foster home and is getting to know her foster furbrother, Bo.  She has started heartworm treatment and is doing great!

THE LATEST:  Dixie is all finished with her heartworm treatment and did fantastic! She is now spayed and ready to find her forever family!
