Dixie Lou was surrendered to a Kentucky shelter for not being good with livestock.  She temperament tested great with other dogs and was OK with cats but we will want to test her a little more with feline friends, just to be sure.  She is a young and beautiful classic fawn girl and is incredibly sweet and loving.  Dixie Lou is received a full makeover at the vet clinic and is now in her Ohio foster home.  She is housebroken and has no problems with crating up when needed.

UPDATE:  Dixie Lou is doing well in her foster home. She crates up like a dream and is completely housebroken.  She loves her foster mom and was a little timid around her foster dad but is warming up to him now.  Despite tested well with dogs at the shelter, Dixie Lou is struggling a little bit with the other dogs in her foster home.  Her foster mom & dad are going to work on that with her.

THE LATEST:  Dixie was returned to the rescue due a change in her home.  She moved to her Minnesota foster home and was seen by the vet right away due to her appearance.  Her bloodwork was good and she tested VERY positive for hookworm, which may have been part of the reason for her extreme weight loss.  Meds on board and she is looking and feeling much better already!  She has settled into her foster home well and loves to cuddle with her foster mom and dad.
