Charlie is very excited to be our first rescue of 2019!  He was surrendered to a northern Illinois shelter in September when his family had a new baby.  Charlie is 10 years old and has some trouble getting around but he always makes his way to a lap to sit on.  He is not neutered and is in need of some dental work (Boxer gums!) so we will get him all vetted and then he will be ready to find his retirement home.  Charlie is good with other dogs, he has not been cat tested yet.   

1/14/19 FROM CHARLIE'S FOSTER MOM:  Charlie is a gentleman of a boxer! He will have his dental and neuter surgery January 23^rd and after healing period will be ready to find his forever home! He is also currently being treated for a urinary tract infection.  Charlie is good with dogs and cats. At first he was very interested in his foster kitty sibling, but now the cat can walk right over him and Charlie doesn’t care. He loves attention but will also go lay down on a dog bed and be content.  He goes into his crate with a few treats and settles nicely.  He has a little weakness/wobbly back legs that could be from being in the shelter for almost 4 months or could be old man back leg issues as well.  I can’t express enough how sweet, easy, and good he is!  He would be great in any family situation!  He deserves to find a home that will love him unconditionally and know that he deserves to be treated like the prince he is!
