Tyann was left outside of a southern Illinois shelter yesterday morning with a note and a bag of food.  At 10 years old she was left with a family member who could not take care of her so someone brought her to the shelter during closed hours and just dropped her off.  What could very likely have been the worst day of her life turned out to be a little better than it started out...the shelter manager knew who to call to get rescue involved ASAP.  With a post in our volunuteer group page and pictures of her adorable face, we received an offer to foster her temporarily to get her out of the shelter.  Jonni and her family rushed through dinner and Andrea met them at the shelter after hours so Tyann would not even spend one night there.  She went home with Jonni and her family and is doing beautifully.  She is a very petite girl, weighing in at 33 pounds right now.  She is increditbly sweet and loving and wants nothing more than to be with people.  Tyann is housebroken.  She was completely terrified during her hours at the shelter but was non-reactive to the dogs and cats there.  Her temp foster mom is following the two week shutdown protocol and keeping her separated from her pack for now.  She received her intake vaccinations at the shelter and is at the vet this morning getting the rest of her routine vetting and getting all checked over.  She does have a bump on her left side that we will get checked out, too.  

1/18 UPDATE:  Tyann is all up to date on her vetting.  Her testing showed that she is already spayed.  She had pretty extensive surgery this past week to remove several masses and to have quite a bit of dental work done including 6 extractions.  She is resting and recovering well at her foster to adopt home.
