Lolly joined us about a week or so ago and has gotten all settled into her Indiana foster home.  She is a gorgeous girl and has natural ears and a full tail.  She is super loving and sweet and LOVES to cuddle.   She crates up OK with some persuasion and a little whining but calms down once crated.  She is housebroken.  She is all up date on her vetting and she is currently being treated for a urinary tract infection.

Lolly was surrendered to rescue due to having issues with the small female dogs in the home.  She had not had any issues with large male dogs while with her former family.  Her current foster home will introduce her to their boy very soon, so far intros through gates have gone very well!  We are not sure if it is a female/female thing and/or possilby a small dog issue.  Lolly's foster mom will try some brief and proper intros with another female Boxer to see how things go.  As of now, we are listing Lolly as no female or small dogs but will update soon on how other meetings go.

UPDATE:  Lolly has a new best friend...her foster furbrother Apollo!!  She and Apollo absolutely love each other. They have played constantly and have been eating, sleeping and playing together. No issues at all even when Apollo steals her toys she has never shown any aggression towards him.  We are absolutely comfortable with placing Lolly in a home with a large male dog.

FROM LOLLY'S FOSTER MOM:  Lolly likes to put her front paws on the counter and watch me make her food and while doing dishes she will watch. She will follow you everywhere. Her tongue is too big for her mouth so it's almost always sticking out. If she does fit it all into her mouth she snorts and grunts while breathing which could very easily be taken as growling to the wrong person. She does not meet a stranger. She loves everybody. She will jump on you. While playing she will all of a sudden stop and come after you. Not in an aggressive way at all just wanting to play. While doing so she will chomp down on your hands. Again not in an aggressive way just wanting to play. I am trying to teach her we don't play that way.  She knows how to sit on command.  Because of how long her tongue is she flips her water and food everywhere and can be quite messy, although she was sent to me with a neater feeder which helps A LOT.

3/1 UPDATE:  Lolly was recently temperament tested with a small dog and she also attended our Metazoa event where there were LOTS of dogs...male, female, large and small and she did very well there, even with all of the noise and actiivity.  While she was FULL of wiggles for everyone she met, she really seems to attach more quickly to men.  At this time, we would be a little more open to possibly placing her in a home with a smaller dog (she is on the small side, too) but to be safe would still prefer that she be adopted into a home with a male dog.  Of course she would be happy being an only dog, as well :)  Lolly is working on crate training and doesn't seem to have a problem with the crate itself but likely has some separation anxiety instead, which is not uncommon in Boxer and with owner surrendered dogs.  Her foster mom will continue to work on that with her.
