This ADORABLE petite girl is Vanessa and she arrived at her North Carolina foster home and is getting settled in.  Vanessa was a little snarky with high energy dogs that she was temperament tested with at the shelter but with a foster offer for her who understands that, we were able to pull her into the rescue.  She is not spayed yet, which could be part of the behavior and/or she may not be feeling the best due to testing positive for heartworm disease, plus she just looked terrified in her intake pictures.  One look at that scared face and we just knew we had to help her.  Vanessa has started on pretreatment medications and she will be seeing the vet very soon to get all checked over.  

FROM HER FOSTER MOM:  Vanessa is doing great. She’s in her shutdown period. She’s learned the routine fast. There’s never a peep out of her in the crate. Matter of fact she hasn’t even barked one time. She did have an accident in her crate last night after she was out a hour earlier and pooped outside. I am pretty sure it was because we overfed her at dinner time. So totally our fault. Lesson learned. She’s so sweet. All she wants to do is be loved on. She’s going to be a total love bug. She’s just happy as she can be though!  She’s not scared now. She just smiles and wags that tail!

2/2/21:  Vanessa is learning the ropes at her forever foster home and is feeling a little better about things.  She is currently undergoing heartworm treatment.
