After much work, a few trainers and many tears, Nugget's adoptive mom made the very difficult decision to return her to the rescue.  Nugget is not the issue...her adoptive fursister just would not accept sharing her home with her after a lengthy separation after her sister's leg surgery.  We know that sometimes happens between to female dogs and we definitely agree with and understand her mom's decision to return her to us to keep everyone safe and happy.  Nugget has been to some training classes and she has never been the aggressor in any of the altercations.

Nugget is now 9 months old.  We are waiting on an updated weight on her, we have estimated her at 40-45 lbs.  She has previously been OK with cats and with other dogs.  Nugget just moved to a temporary Minnesota foster home and in the short time she has been there, there was an incident with the resident cat...the cat went after her, not her after the cat.  Nugget is completely submissive and has never tried to defend herself or fight back.

This is the information from her former adoptive mom:

Nugget enjoys her walks and is doing fairly well learning fetch. She is definitely a lover she loves to snuggle and be near her human. Before things went sideways she also loved to play with my other dog. They would wrestle and chase each other and play with toys together. She loves her bully sticks and frozen kongs with peanut butter. We are working in sit she is doing well with that down we are still working on. Off is another command we are working on. Just this week she is trying to get her nose up on the counters so we are working on correcting that. She is also doing well with wait when we are at the door for our walk. She gets so excited she needs a few reminders. She is a sweet sweet pup.  She is my flying squirrel she has no fear when jumping from my couch to the chair.

FOSTER HOME UPDATE 5/4/22:  Nugget has settled in very well at her foster home.  She LOVES her foster furbrother Keller and loves to run the fence and "play" with the Pittie pup next door.  She loves kids and is very social with all people.  She is just the best girl!!!!

Nugget would do best in a home with another dog, preferably a male dog.  She would likely do OK with cats, we just don't know for sure.  She is crate trained and housebroken.
