We haven't brought in a North Carolina baby for a while but with some amazing offers to pull, transport and foster this girl, we were able to pull Sookie from the shelter and get her to Heartland in Danville to get some routine vetting done and get her spayed.  She also had bilateral cherry eye that was repaired, too.  She did fabulous with the surgery and is looking even more adorable than before!  Sookie will be hanging out at the clinic for just a little bit to heal up from her surgeries then she will be on the move to her Illinois foster home.  She is not quite all Boxer but she is definitely ALL friendly and sweet and loves absolutely everyone and everything!  Please check back in on Sookie as she settles into her foster home.

10/5 UPDATE:  A few days after arriving at her foster home, Sookie had to return to the vet to get her cherry eyes surgically repaired again.  Definitely not an uncommon occurence when we don't know how long the eyes had been like that before the first surgery.  She recovered beautifully and her eyes are looking great!!!  Sookie has not only fit right in at her foster home, they have decided that she will just stay.  Adoption pending!!!
