Peanut and her sister Butters were surrendered to the rescue several weeks ago. We have gotten them through their first few rounds of needed vaccinations and dewormimg and a quarantine period to make sure they are healthy. They need one more round of everything but can be adopted before that is done and the rescue wiil still cover that cost.  Butters already has an adoptive family waiting for her but Peanut is still looking for her family.

2/3 UPDATE FROM HER FOSTER MOM: This little lady is the perfect little house quest.  She is so sweet, and loves to cuddle and be cuddled.  But mostly if you are on the floor with her.  She will sit on a chair, or couch with you, but wants down pretty quickly (when you stop petting her, she's done being up there).  I think this is because we always have so much going on, and the other dogs are constantly moving, and she is afraid of being left out.  She already knows her name, and gets super excited when she hears it, especially if its followed by "good girl"  She is doing fantastic at the potty training.  I keep pee pads down, but she will actively bark at me when she needs to go out.  In an emergency she will use a potty pad though.  She had not had a poo in the house for 3 days now!  She is a finicky eater, and usually does not finish her breakfast, as she is more worried about getting to the other dogs for play time.  Right now she is being given 1 full cup of food in the am, and 1 full cup in the pm.  She never misses her dinner though.  She is always a clean platter at dinner time.  She does like a soft cushy pillow.  We have several to choose from, and she always chooses the one that is the fluffiest (It almost looks like a shag carpet pillow).  She loves her toys.  She loves the soft toys to best, but will also play with plastic type toys if that is all that is available, although they do not hold her attention nearly as long as the soft toys do.  Her favorite though is playing with a ball.  We spend a few minutes each night tossing the ball down the hallway, and a few days ago, she started to bring it back!  This little lady hates her crate.  Although she does settle she is extremely mad when you put her in it, and will bark until she settles. Sometimes its less than 30 seconds, sometimes its 10 minutes.  I am currently only crating her at night, so she is used to having full run of the house during the day now.  But once she settles, if she randomly barks she needs to use the potty.  That seems to be her early warning system.  If you don't respond, she will mess her crate.  If you go get her and take her out, and put her back, she will not mess the crate, but she will start the barking again until she calms down.  She is not sleeping through the night yet.  Right now she is on a schedule, of Bedtime at 8:00, and then she will get up about 1 am to use the potty, have her little meltdown, and then settle back in until my alarm goes off at 5:30.  When that alarm goes off she is ready to rock and roll! In the mornings I have to carry her outside because if I don't she will stop in the middle of the hallway, and have a piddle.  (It's a lot for those little bladders to hold).  But she always holds her poo until we get outside.  She loves the daycare kiddos that I have, and approaches with a wagging tail, and calmly.  She likes to give face kisses, and the kids are not shy about letting her do this.  She had not met a stranger, and loves to be loved on.  Her favorite spot to be petted is the back of her neck. (It gets her little leg going). She also loves her bones.  After potty break in the morning she gets a bone to chew on while I am checking kids in, and she will not move from her pillow as long as she has that bone. Now that she has caught onto the routine she is sitting by the gate, waiting for me to bring in the morning bone, and once I give it to her, she takes off to her pillow.
