6 years old. Lived in an outdoor southern Illinois pen. No current vaccines, no comfortable indoor life. Several litters later, puppies all sold - Lady is now with heartworm disease, Lyme disease, dental disease, and possibly suspicious mammary growths.  All settled into her Ohio foster home, our girl gets to have medical care now and get all of the love and care she needs and deserves.

Lady has started her pre-heartworm treatment medication, which will also help with the Lyme disease.  We will work closely with her vet on if she is healthy enough for surgery before treatment, if not, she will be spayed and have her dental work done and possibly have the mammary bumps removed, if needed.  She won't be ready for adoption for a while due to her medical needs and please keep her in your thoughts as she goes through everything.

10/9 UPDATE:  Lady is all finished with her pre-treatment medication.  She had extensive bloodwork and x-rays done and it was determined that she could undergo surgery before her treatment started so she was spayed last week and had a few bad teeth removed and did fantastic.  She will recover for a few more days then will start heartworm treatment.  Please check back in on her to see how she is doing!!

1/9/24 UPDATE:  Lady has completed heartworm treatment and did amazing!!!!!  She will be undergoing a quick surgical procedure to remove a couple of mammary tumors that we had been keeping an eye on and that surgery is scheduled for 1/11.  We will give her a week or so to recoup from that and then she will be READY to find her furever family!!!
