We are working on getting Kane pulled from the shelter in South Carolina and into a foster home there.  He is dog and people friendly.  Kane is heartworm positive and will need treatment very soon.

UPDATE:  Kane is in his foster home now and is feeling much better.  He is doing great with his furbrothers and sisters.  He is a very strong boy and is learning how to walk on a leash.  He doesn't like to crate up but will eventually give in :)

UPDATE FROM KANE:  Hey everyone, Kane here!  I am about 1.5 years old and a lovable boy to everyone!  I love hanging out with my fursister in my Minnesota foster home.  I love to play with her and sometimes she puts me in my place :)  I am great with children and I love everyone.  I crate up well now and don't mind being in there.  I even go in there on my own to nap sometimes!  I love rawhides and noisy toys.  I am currently in treatment for the heartworm that I have and will be going in for my second treatment on July 8th.  I can't wait to find my furever home...is it yours???

LATEST UPDATE:  Kane is potty trained, he was probably nervous the first day at my home and that is why he had accidents, and it’s to be expected.  He has not had an accident in the house since that day.He does not try to jump the fence and only bolted out the door that oneday – he does not do that anymore!  Again he was probably scared and nervous his first day here.

We are impressed at how smart Kane is.  He learns FAST and WANTS to learn. He is much better and does not jump up on anyone anymore and we use the same consistent commands so he totally knows. He gets along great with all dogs and cats.  My mom’s foster girl is now fine with Kane, she is older and has cancer so she does not want to play and ignores Kane’s requests.  Kane does not mind the kennel although he now knows how to use his nose to push up the door inch by inch and uses his paws as well it is quite AMAZING how he works that door open, without hurting himself or ruining the kennel, it takes him awhile to open but he is so patient and confident when he does it.  He watches everything you do and listens to what you say and is SUPERmotivated.  My mom said he is one of the smartest dogs she has worked with in all her years, and she has worked with a lot. The only thing we need to work on more when he is done with his resting, is his pulling on leash.  BUT he has come a long way already with this as well, we walk him in the yard little by little. When he is done resting we will be able to do more. 

Kane has won Berk over since day one and they sleep together, I obviously limit their play and keep Kane as quiet as possible but you can tell Kane is feeling so much better and Berk adores him. Berk sleeps right outside of the kennel when Kane is in there for quiet time – but now Kane opens the door and let’s Berk in!! It is really cute!!

We love Sweet Kane and want the very best for him, he really deserves it!!!  I would recommend a loving family that wants to continue to “teach” Kane more and more andexplores all of Kane’s abilities as he can do and learn much more than your basic commands.  I think Kane would bore with a family that did not appreciate this.
