Gigi was rescued in January 2015 by her Kentucky mom.  She had been starved for love, affection and for food.  At the time of her rescue, Gigi was living in a 5 x 5 x 6 kennel.  She had no shelter from the weather other than a 55 gallon metal drum that was her dog house with no bedding.  She had never touched grass.  She was fed once per week and had no human contact for the last year there.  She was used for breeding purposes only.  Her former male owner was very abusive so she is a little bit afraid of men but will warm up quickly once she knows they will not harm her.

Gigi is afraid of loud noises and yelling will startle her.  She will look up to you for comfort and is so desperate for love that she will follow you from room to room, just for reassurance that you are not going to leave her.

Her Kentucky mom got her spayed and up to date on vaccines.  Gigi is crate trained and is used to getting treats upon going into the crate.  She slept on a blanket with a baby gate at the door or with the bedroom door closed.  She sleeps through the night and will go out to potty first thing in the morning.

Gigi loves other dogs, both male and female.  She does not seem to mind cats or kittens.  She will also let you know when someone is around who is new to her :)

Her Kentucky mom had no intention of ever giving her up but due to a serious illness and treatment she made the tough decision to let her go.  She reached out to us for help with finding her a new home.

Gigi is currently in her temporary foster home in west central Ohio.  She is doing great and has adjusted well.  She gets along beautifully with all of the resident cats and dogs.  She is super sweet and calm and will do well in a home with children and other animals.
