Roger
We are incredibly sad to report that Roger crossed the rainbow bridge today. We will be forever grateful that AABR brought him to us. Roger joined our family in June as a foster but we quickly fell in love and adopted both he and his sister in October. Roger came to us malnourished like many who have been neglected and he had several medical issues that were addressed by AABR’s great veterinary staff. While under our care, we discovered Roger was suffering from a degenerative neuro-muscular disease which caused him to have progressive incontinence and weakness. We did our best to care for him and make him feel safe, and loved, while maintaining his dignity. Roger was a very stoic, sweet, and dignified senior. We were planning to have his remaining four molars removed in the weeks ahead (he had several teeth removed during his vetting.) However, in the past month we noticed he was starting to decline. His back legs were getting weaker, he stopped wanting to go for walks, and his incontinence was getting worse. The vet was concerned he wouldn’t be safe to go under anesthesia. Without needed oral surgery he would die from infection. So, we made the decision to do right by him. He has suffered enough in this life. I may not have had him long but he will forever be my sweet guy. He had no idea what a stuffed dog toy was when I got him. While in our care, he wanted to be surrounded by ALL the plushies. He especially loved his lambies, boiled chicken, and salmon biscuits. He was the best boxer boy. You are at peace now “Roggie Rog” “Mr. Rogers” and will forever be loved. **Please consider fostering or adopting and making boxers a part of your family too.

Prince aka Rocky
With the heaviest of hearts, I had to say goodbye to my sweet prince, Rocky today. He’s running free over the rainbow bridge with his sister Lacey Mae. Rocky’s health has been failing the last few months, he suffered a major stroke that left half his body in rough shape, he’s been having seizures and lost the ability to live a full life. He stopped eating and drinking, his seizures had become more severe and frequent and we made the choice to end his suffering. He was the best boy, ❤️and got me personally through some incredibly hard times. He got to be loved on by everyone and we all got to say goodbye and he passed in my arms. Our home won’t be the same without him. We love you Rocky.

Rosie

Cleopatra AKA Cleo
Cleo lived a beautiful life, despite all of the struggles that she faced in her time before rescue. From her family: Today we said goodbye to Cleo, a dog who embodied resilience and transformation. When she joined the rescue in 2018, she had severe human aggression. However, with dedication and patience, Cleo evolved into a loving and trusting dog. Over time, Cleo's aggression and reactivity turned into curiosity and affection. She learned to enjoy human company and became a relaxed, playful dog. Cleo's journey is a testament to the power of patience, persistence and the right training. She thrived, leaving an indelible legacy . We are grateful for the time we had with her and the lessons she taught us about resilience and compassion… and to NEVER give up! Go get’em girl! Enjoy the freedom and everyone who was waitin on the other side of the bridge to greet you ❤️
