Deverick aka Bubbles
Our sweet Bubbles was put to rest late 2024, surrounded by family in the comfort of his home as we held him in our arms while saying goodbye. He had a very rough start to his life and AABR assisted in giving him a second chance at life with us. After joining our family he spent the rest of his days being pampered, praised, and living a life of leisure. He adored sunbathing in our backyard and rolling around in the grass. The last few years he found pleasure in joining us on camping trips, even when it got chilly at night knowing he could sneak into our sleeping bags. We made a yearly tradition of going to the apple orchard and he loved any activity we included him in. Whether it was just a car ride or walks in the park, our life revolved around Bubbles as much as possible. He had many quirks and always a goofy attitude. Everyday with him was a delight, and now there won't be a day that passes where he isn't missed so dearly. We are forever grateful for all the time we were able to cherish with him and I hope he knew how deeply he was loved.
Andre
In one context, ten years seems like an eternity. When talking about the time spent with a best friend, it's not nearly long enough. Ten years ago you came to us a rescue on his 5th home, but you finally were home. You were so loved by the entire family, we couldn't have asked for a (better) dog with the kids than you. Andre you will be forever missed. Love you, buddy.
Roger
We are incredibly sad to report that Roger crossed the rainbow bridge today. We will be forever grateful that AABR brought him to us. Roger joined our family in June as a foster but we quickly fell in love and adopted both he and his sister in October. Roger came to us malnourished like many who have been neglected and he had several medical issues that were addressed by AABR’s great veterinary staff. While under our care, we discovered Roger was suffering from a degenerative neuro-muscular disease which caused him to have progressive incontinence and weakness. We did our best to care for him and make him feel safe, and loved, while maintaining his dignity. Roger was a very stoic, sweet, and dignified senior. We were planning to have his remaining four molars removed in the weeks ahead (he had several teeth removed during his vetting.) However, in the past month we noticed he was starting to decline. His back legs were getting weaker, he stopped wanting to go for walks, and his incontinence was getting worse. The vet was concerned he wouldn’t be safe to go under anesthesia. Without needed oral surgery he would die from infection. So, we made the decision to do right by him. He has suffered enough in this life. I may not have had him long but he will forever be my sweet guy. He had no idea what a stuffed dog toy was when I got him. While in our care, he wanted to be surrounded by ALL the plushies. He especially loved his lambies, boiled chicken, and salmon biscuits. He was the best boxer boy. You are at peace now “Roggie Rog” “Mr. Rogers” and will forever be loved. **Please consider fostering or adopting and making boxers a part of your family too.
Prince aka Rocky
With the heaviest of hearts, I had to say goodbye to my sweet prince, Rocky today. He’s running free over the rainbow bridge with his sister Lacey Mae.
Rocky’s health has been failing the last few months, he suffered a major stroke that left half his body in rough shape, he’s been having seizures and lost the ability to live a full life.
He stopped eating and drinking, his seizures had become more severe and frequent and we made the choice to end his suffering. He was the best boy, ❤️and got me personally through some incredibly hard times.
He got to be loved on by everyone and we all got to say goodbye and he passed in my arms. Our home won’t be the same without him. We love you Rocky.
