We can't think of a more appropriate name for this regal girl.  Her former life consisted of living in a kennel, having litter after litter in a puppy mill.  She joined the rescue back in December along with Bo Duke after the breeder was finally put out of business but not before she was bred one last time.  Queenie gave birth to five beautiful puppies in early January.  They are doing beautifully and once they are completely weaned she will be spayed and get the rest of her needed vetting then she will be all ready to find her perfect family.  Queenie has been amazing with everyone coming to see the pups, a huge feat for a former mill girl.

UPDATE:  Queenie's pups are branching out on their own which is allowing our girl to start being a dog instead of a mom.  She is doing OK with housebreaking but still needs some guidance and patience with that.  She is all up to date on her vaccines and we will be looking at getting her spayed soon.  Queenie is in need of a foster or adoptive home who will help her continue to grow and learn.

THE LATEST:  Our girl is adjusting very well to just being a dog :)  She has learned to potty outside but still stuggles a little bit when it is really cold and raining or snowing.  She likes her crate and sleeps in there at night with the door open.  She is learning what toys are and only plays for a few minutes but that is awesome for a former puppy mill girl.  She gets along great with all of the other dogs in her current foster home and doesn't pay any attention to the ducks.
