12/10/21 UPDATE FROM GRACIE AND GRACIE'S FOSTER MOM:
Hi my name is Gracie Mae and I am bundle of love and fun! I am 16 months old and I came into rescue as my momma passed away. Luckily my aunt called AABR so I can find a forever home that wants a silly, fun, energetic, loving lap dog. Yep... I love laps and being attached to my humans.  This is when I relax and take in all of the petting and kisses I can get!

Since I am young, I do have energy so I need to be with someone who will want to take me on walks (which my foster mom says I am getting better at everyday) or have a big fenced in yard so I can run and run and RUN! I also like other dogs, especially the ones that want to play. And a bonus... I LOVE cats, now they may not love me but I'll get them to warm up to me!

Gracie's foster mom here-  Gracie described herself very well.  She is young and full of energy and she is such a good girl! She's learning to walk on a leash without pulling and since she has a lot of energy, she needs those walks! She listens well with only a couple of reminders.

She likes to counter surf, so we have been implementing the No Dogs in the Kitchen rule while cooking and eating or she tries to be sneaky and steal food. She is good with my teenagers but would be good with younger kids as well since she is so gentle. She plays with my boxer but he is getting to be old and only likes to play in small bursts so when she wants to play more she moves onto the cats.  She does like the cats and doesn't chase but will get in their faces, so much that I caught her licking the top of my cats head one day! I would also recommend a fenced-in yard so she can get that running in and energy out! And she is potty trained and has had no accidents!

Gracie joined the rescue a couple of weeks ago and is adjusting well at her Minnesota foster mom.  She came to us as an owner surrender...when her mom passed away and with her dad working super long hours, leaving Gracie home alone a lot, her dad made the extremely hard and heartbreaking decision to turn her over to rescue so we could help her to find her perfect next family.

Gracie is a young, petite girl and is FULL FULL FULL of energy.  She is fabulous with other dogs, with cats and with kids.  She would do best with an active family who has the time to take her on walks and to give her lots of time to run and play.

Gracie is learning very quickly how to walk on the leash and how not to countersurf.  She sits on command and her family is working with her on some basic manners and obedience.  Her foster mom wil be taking her to the vet next week to get all checked over and to get a few routine things done.  Overall, she is just a great girl!!
