Colleen and her six puppies were found in rural Alabama and taken to a shelter...and a shelter was no place for this little family to be.  They are now with their foster mom, Corinne and are doing well.  The vet said the babies are healthy and approximately six weeks old, but mom is heartworm positive.  Life has not been kind to her and she needs some serious love, attention and patience.  With Colleen also being heartworm positive, she will need a quiet home to help her get through treatment.

AFTER TREATMENT:  Colleen just tested heartworm negative...her treatment was a success!!!   She will require very understanding adoptive parents who will help her with her trust issues and will continue her very intensive training.  Colleen will do best in a home with no cats, no small dogs or any other small animals.  She loves her foster furbrother Charley :)

UPDATE:  Colleen has made huge strides in being able to board while her foster mom is out of town and has a few very favorite people that she loves and trusts.  She continues to do well with foster furbrother Charley and also with her skinbrother.  Colleen recently went hiking with her family and she had a wonderful time and was the best girl ever!

THE LATEST:  Our girl has overcome some serious challenges in her life and we don't feel that she is a candidate for adoption in any other home.  Colleen has found her place with Heather as a furever foster.  As a "Sponsor Me" dog, the rescue will continue to cover her vetting and medical expenses.  Please consider sponsoring Colleen with a one-time or recurring donation.  Thank you!

2/25/21 MEDICAL UPDATE:  Colleen underwent knee surgery on BOTH rear knees yesterday as she had full tears on both :(  She did very well with the surgery and is home for her long recovery.  Please keep her in your thoughts and prayers!!

5/4/22 UPDATE:  Colleen will be having some "older Boxer" lumps and bumps checked out and possible surgery.  Please check back in on her....thank you!

11/25/22 UPDATE:  Colleen had surgery at the end of August to have a few bumps removed. The biopsy on the largest bump came back as cancer. They vet was hoping that they got good enough margins but unfortunately just about 3 months later the largest bump came back.  Colleen had surgery a couple of days ago to remove that tumor again.  She did well with the very invasive surgery and is recovering at home.
